Yulia Evina Bhara

Yulia Evina Bhara is the founder of KawanKawan Media, a production company based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She produces films after seven years of self-taught experience of producing theatres with history and humanity themes.

Her feature film debut is SOLO, SOLITUDE (2016, Yosep Anggi Noen), premiered in the Locarno’s Filmmaker of the Present. She scored a hat trick of wins at Locarno over the last few years with Yosep Anggi Noen’s “The Science of Fictions” (2019), Carlo Francisco Manatad’s “Whether the Weather Is Fine” (2021) and Ming Jin Woo’s “Stone Turtle” (2022), and won an award at CPH:DOX for Fanny Chotimah’s documentary “You and I” in 2020.

Her latest works include award winning debut features Autobiography (2022, Makbul Mobarak), premiered at Venice Film Festival’s Orizzonti section. In 2023, she produced Tiger Stripes (2023, Amanda Nell Eu) premiered at Cannes’ Semaine de la Critique.
