Theo Rumansara was born in Biak, Papua, the easternmost province of Indonesia, a region where most of its people are predominantly Melanesian. In 2020, he won Jendela Papua, a talent scouting & film lab program which finally brought him closer to his chance to direct his 1st film Orpa (2022). The 1st fiction feature-length film ever directed by a native Papuan went on to win the Best Performance Awards in 2022 JAFF-NETPAC & AICEF Prize in 2023 Balinale Film Festival. By the end of 2023, Orpa is set to travel across 12 film festivals & securing 1 nomination in 2023 FFI (Indonesia’s Academy Awards).

Axel Hadiningrat
Producer

Axel Hadiningrat was born in Bandung, Indonesia. After achieving his MBA degree, Axel is currently continuing his academic journey as a student of Strategic and Global Studies at Universitas Indonesia for his doctoral degree, while also taking on the role as a lecturer at the very same university. As the producer of Orpa, which won the Indonesian Screen Awards for Best Performance Awards at the 17th JAFF-NETPAC & AICEF Prize in the 2023 Balinale Film Festival, he aims to proceed with an upcoming project alongside groundbreaking Papuan film director Theo Rumansara, in what will be their 2nd feature film in collaboration together.

Giovanni Rahmadeva
Producer

Giovanni Rahmadeva is a music & film producer, based in Indonesia. His latest works include Night Bus (2017 Festival Film Indonesia Best Film) & Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts (2017 Directors’ Fortnight Cannes & 2018 Festival Film Indonesia Best Film). In 2018 he also co-produced Koji Fukada’s The Man From The Sea. Working with 1st time directors is a challenge that he loves, as now Giovanni is also developing Devina Sofiyanti’s 1st feminist-horror feature, The Heirlooms, selected in 2023 Produire au Sud Taipei. Giovanni is a Full Circle Lab, Busan Asian Film School, RIFF Talent Lab, JFW Producers Lab & Produire au Sud alumni.
