Sonny Calvento
Director & Scriptwriter

Sonny Calvento is a director, producer and writer based in Manila. Reflective of the Filipino psyche of finding humor in tragedies, Sonny is interested in tackling the sometimes farcical life in the Philippines. His first short film Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss (2019) became the first Filipino short film in Sundance Film Festival. The same film premiered in Locarno Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortFest and Shanghai International Film Festival to name a few. His first feature film The Decaying (2017) premiered in Busan International Film Festival.

Arden Rod Condez
Scriptwriter

In 2005, Arden Rod Condez graduated cum laude at the premier state university, the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, with a degree in Broadcast Communication. He wrote and directed his full-length debut, John Denver Trending in 2019. It became Cinemalaya’s Best Film and NETPAC Jury Award. The same film competed in Busan International Film Festival. He then wrote Sonny Calvento’s Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss, the first-ever Filipino short film selected at the Sundance Film Festival (2021). The film also screened in the 2021 Locarno Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortFest, Shanghai International Film Festival to name a few.

Sheron Dayoc
Producer

Sheron Dayoc is a director/producer from Mindanao. His notable films are HALAW/Ways of the Sea (NETPAC Jury -2011 Berlinale, NETPAC Award – APSA 2011, Cinemalaya 2010 Best film), The Crescent Rising (Best Documentary – Busan IFF 2016, Best Documentary - Gawad Urian 2015), and Women of the Weeping River won numerous local and international awards. Sheron is currently producing Sonny Calvento’s latest film Mother Maybe selected as one of the six Asian projects in the Sundance Institute’s Asia Intensive Program and a recipient of a development grant from CreatePH of the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
