Khozy Rizal is a filmmaker based in Makassar, Indonesia. He started making films in 2021 with a short film Makassar is a City for Football Fans and screened at Sundance, BFI Flare and several film festivals. In 2023, he made a short film titled Basri & Salma in a Never-ending Comedy which had its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival and was the first Indonesian short film that was nominated for Palme d’Or for short film.

After finishing his film studies in New York, Muhammad Zaidy back to Indonesia in 2015 and became a co-producer for Athirah with Mira Lesmana. Along with Meiske Taurisia, he founded Palari Films and produced Posesif that won 3 Citra Awards in 2017. In 2018 Aruna & Lidahnya, screened at the Berlinale Film Festival 2019, and won 2 Citra Awards. In 2021, Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens also won Citra Awards for Best Actress. In 2021, Vengeance is Mine, All Others Pay Cash won the Golden Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival and screened at more than 50 international festivals.
