HE Shuming graduated from the Puttnam School of Film and Animation, LASALLE College of The Arts, Singapore. Recipient of a scholarship awarded by the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore, Shuming furthered his craft at the American Film Institute Conservatory, where he completed his MFA in directing. Shuming was conferred the Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council, one of the most distinguished honours for the arts in Singapore.

AJOOMMA is his debut feature which world premieres at the Busan International Film Festival in the New Currents competition.
