LOGLINE
Siti and Ahmad are 2nd generation Indonesians living with their mother in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. One night, the siblings come home and find a dead person on their mother’s precious carpet! There are too many reasons why calling the police is not an option and being non-citizens is just one of them. Both have till sunrise to dispose the body and get the carpet cleaned before their mother returns.

Mien.ly
Director

Mien.ly was a social activist filmmaker from 2005-2010. She was also involved in Malaysia’s indie film scene. Then she left for further studies in 2010, funded by Chevening Scholarship. After returning in 2015, she ventured into fictional narrative filmmaking. In 2017, her dystopian short film Selam 2.0 won 4 awards at BMW Shorties. This film got her into Bifan’s Fantastic Film School in 2018. She made Marilah Sayang, a miniseries for mobile content in 2019 and 8-episode series Murder By Moonlight for Astro TV in 2022. She continues to make time for filmmaking while working full-time in a private university.

Ridfan Abdul Hamid
Scriptwriter

Ridfan began his journey in filmmaking by writing his first script titled Selam for Mien in 2016. He continued his collaboration with her in their next short film Selam 2.0 (2017) which was submitted for the BMW Shorties that year and won 4 awards. In 2019, Ridfan helped Mien with dialogue and translations for a streaming series titled Marilah Sayang. In 2022, his horror genre screenplay titled Almario was shortlisted in Kuman Pictures/Emir Ezwan scriptwriting competition. Ridfan and Mien had recently collaborated in 2023 to develop a 3-minute script for a sizzler video for a streaming channel.

Ineza Roussille
Producer

Ineza is a Malaysian based filmmaker with extensive experience in making documentaries on social issues; especially on LGBT, women and children’s rights. She has produced films for UNICEF, the Joint Action Group on Gender Equality (JAG) and SEED in Malaysia.  In 2019, Ineza co-produced and directed M for Malaysia, her first feature documentary that went on to screen at film festivals all over the world including CAAMfest in the US, DocEdge in New Zealand, and Busan International Film Festival, Korea. M for Malaysia was also Malaysia’s official entry for the 2020 Academy Awards.
